We were asked by element14 to design a case to fit the new Raspberry Pi 2

The images below show the case, it was printed in 2 halves, we paused our Robox and changed filament colour part way through each print to create this great effect.

    Looks nice!

How did you get 3 different colours on the bottom of the case? Replacing material half way through?

Did you print them using ‘standard’ Robox with current AM?

blue and orange text is on different layers so just some clever pausing.

    Default profiles and materials.

    Try it 🙂

Pause through AM, eject through Robox, unpause on AM?

Definitively clever use of it an pause and replace materials.

Now thinking of it – it would be nice (read it as a feature request) to have M command in set of printer commands that would do nothing  but pause and waiting for resume option. That way you can build it in (g) program sent to the printer. One wouldn’t need to sit and wait for printer to start printing next layer to change materials.

The multiple colors trick is impressive. Great job!

I only have Pi 1’s 🙁 and original May 2012 versions too – so this won’t work for me

    An excuse to buy a Pi2 I suppose 😉

Where? All places that have regular price are on backorder until end of April. Everywhere else you need to pay £36-£40 for it…
