    Thanks mike!

  • Updated some content, thanks for the feedback.

The machine is likely to be purchased within VERY large budgets. Eg if we sell 2 per year I get a beatboxing chauffeur and a rapping butler (life goals).

Expected first customers are aerospace, automotive manufacturing and the like.

Conductive pastes will be part of development but there is waaay…[Read more]

  • S3D are hassling me to approve their “Compatible with Robox” statement.

They gave me the attached profile. (DEV1 testers have already seen this) The interesting part was a find and replace command which seems to work well to open and close nozzles at suitable times.

Nozzle heaters will turn off after 5 minutes if there is no gcode activity.

I think the bed will remain on until the power company cuts you off.  This keeps the print stuck to the bed. Not sure on this one, I don’t have access to all the firmware changes right now.

  • YT (other Chris) suggested that there may be extra current through one pin causing this spring failure. This can be caused by a bad head screw as the location of the head PCB against the pins is varied and causes additional resistance in some connections.

It is possible that something was preventing the bed from reaching the back wall to press the limit switch. It could be some loose debris or the metal tab from the build plate clip.

Debris can also prevent the bed cable chain from moving freely. If you unplug all the power and USB cables you can pull the front lower cover off the Robox, it is…[Read more]

The chip will be ok, the filament will distort before the chip or anything on it gets damaged.

There are a lot of published methods around to dry filament.

Maintain and even temp which will not distort the material, snip some material off and test it before committing the whole reel. You need way of evacuating the damp air so it is not absorbed…[Read more]

I wonder when they will ask permission to use my photo of reels?

    FUNMAT HT 3D PRINTER

That picture was taken before we even had stickers for the reels.

  • Lean and twist will interact. Turn is independent and will only rotate around the Z axis, ie only spin things so their relationship to the bed surface remains the same.

To add multiple models at the same time just highlight them in the file browser and drag them in at the same time or click Add Model and use CTRL to select multiple models then…[Read more]

@f2andy For transparent windows, rather than printing them just cut some film and put it in a printed frame. For light lens pathways and things you might get away with solid filled printed parts if you can polish the edges which will project the light.

The best items I see which use 3D printers as part of a process, not an all in one…[Read more]

  • @statro A mess on the bed might just need a Nozzle Height Calibration. Some of the terminology and possible causes of issues can be tricky when getting used to Robox, even with experience with other 3D printers.

It is important to allow material to set before trying to remove it from the bed. PLA in particular stays liquid and will leave a mess…[Read more]

Purge is a good test for material flow.

Can you take a photo of a purge result?
