@microcan I’m pretty sure this is what the current dual nozzles were designed for.
@pete Wasn’t this a feature in the early AM versions? I get the feeling it was scrapped because the quality wasn’t quite there yet.

Website: www.steelmans3d.comJanuary 21, 2016 at 9:05 am #26015You can do this in slic3r but not in Cura.
It does work, we should try it again with the new software.
January 21, 2016 at 9:19 am #26016I though that the dual head with 0.8 mm nozzle only was used for faster x,y direction and the z direction was kept at the desired resolution. I believe CEL is planning to bring it back to Automaker. The current software only waists filament with the 0.8 mm nozzle on the wipe.
With the dual material head both materials use a 0.4 mm head you could use the following strategie for 0.1 mm z resolution.
- skip 3 fill layers, print a fill layer at 0.4 mm z resolution
Of course you have to do some smart tricks to prevent a gab between the perimeter and the fill. You could for example print the inner perimeter after you have printed the fill.
June 3, 2016 at 8:34 am #30362Hi,I have opened a ticket about this but thought that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction more quickly and let me close the ticket early. 🙂
The opening poster (Pete) says that speed of print can be increased by changing the ‘Feed rate multiplier’, however I am having difficulty changing this, any help again would be much appreciated.
My AM version is: 2.00.01 (Yes, I do keep being told that a newer version is available but everytime I try to install it an error message appears, it tries 3 times and each time it fails.)Specifically the opening post states:“To take part in this experiment you will need to have set safe mode to OFF.The simple way to increase speed is within your Filament profile, increase theFeed Rate Multiplier
This is typically set to 1.0 but a setting of 3 or 4 is acceptable, it will do as it says, Multiply the Rate of everything….not ideal but very simple. If you are changing the speeds elsewhere please keep this setting close to it’s default, normally around 1 to prevent confusion.”I have taken the ‘Safe mode to OFF’ as meaning un-ticking the ‘Safety Features’ from Preferences -> Printing -> Safety Features’.However, when I go to change the Feed rate multiplier (under Library -> Filaments -> Feed rate multiplier) the box is greyed out and I cannot therefore change the setting from the default ‘1’.As I say above any help would be greatly appreciated.- This reply was modified 1 year ago by Bill Roy.

May 18, 2017 at 8:14 pm #39534how do i speed up prints in automaker 3.0?
May 19, 2017 at 7:20 am #39548Automaker has a lot of options to speed up the print.
See manual: (it is a very good manual)
5.5.9 Advanced Settings - Speed
You can find the latest manual at: http://www.cel-robox.com/downloads/
