It’s no longer the case that you can consider science fiction to be just that - fiction. The 3D printer is the replicator on the Star Trek USS Enterprise, although that makes tea and coffee as well!
I don’t fully understand how this microstructure method is actually printed, I’m assuming that you could only use the SLA method in 3D printing. But it’s very clear that there’s still more developments to come. I can see something like a microstucture printed figure would be ideal for stop motion animation.
