RoboxPro › Forums › Technical Support › Print head not readable, but head heats up continuously

I’m having an issue with my printhead, in which it just heats up out of control and the fan spins, but it isn’t visible on the Automaker software. A nozzle control error pops up when I try and run some of the tests (X test, Y test etc). I’ve already opened up a support ticket but I thought I’d ask if anyone else has had a similar problem. Oddly, Automaker can read the print head temp, just doesn’t seem able to control it.
Note, X carriage PCB and locking wheel have been replaced. Same situation on another printhead I purchased.
@achen I’d wait for support, as never had this one myself.
As it the same on another known good printhead, it seems to suggest it is to do with the connections on the X carriage, because as far as I know the motherboard controls the heating.
As you’ve replaced the X carriage, & locking wheel, maybe it’s a ZIF cable connection, aka the communication between the X carriage and motherboard that is the issue. It could be as simple as a misplaced locking clip, and the flex cable not making contact, or poor seating of the pogo pins, but it’s not something you want to fiddle with indiscriminately, or look at with power on and USB lead connected.
