I would love to be able to select which nozzle should be used for the top layers. Right now the top layer nozzle is determined by the Solid Infill nozzle choice which is a bit useless in my opinion.

I have a Robox with the QuickFill head and I want to be able to use the 0.3mm nozzle for perimeters and top and bottom layers, and the 0.8mm nozzle for infill.

Right now the 0.8mm nozzle of the QuickFill head is basically useless for me because whenever I try to use it for infill I also get roughness and gaps in the top layer, and thin features like walls often doesn’t get a top layer at all.

@bhudson I know, that’s why I submitted this thread in the Feature Request forum…

BHudson is a bit of a ROBOX Junkie and will chime in anywhere he can but I did get a laugh with his response in the ‘feature request’ thread.

Incidentally, I too would love that feature although I wouldn’t bet it is going to provide you with a much better finish. (but it sure would help my ‘gear wheel’ prints)

What I have learned with my 4+ years of 3D printing is that you never print your design, you design around your printer. All 3D printers have the same limitations and you must keep these limitations in mind when designing your model. Even ‘subtractive’ 3D printers have their limitations, which are generally totally different to ‘additive’ 3D printers.
