In photo A there is a line between the holes, there are also lines left by the nozzle leaving a trail when doing a rapid move.
Again the same things in B
This is PLA , normal profile, nozzles are not leaking at any other time. My printer has always done this. Had it for four years and even when it had services done this could not be fixed. Friend used to have the same problem with the snail trails but since his last service it has disappeared. Really annoying as the surface would be very good with that effect.
Can it be fixed?

The last layer isn’t closed and there are other indications of underextrusion, indicating either a filament feed issue or a head calibration issue, usually. You might want to open a support ticket.
The trails are usually caused by filament buildup on the outside of the nozzle or a slow leak during printing. If you are certain the print head isn’t leaking, try cleaning the outside of the heads. There is an article on the support site that will tell you how.

www.hudsondesignlabs.comSeptember 19, 2018 at 9:16 pm #49382I have a new head to fit. Also have new bowden cable, waiting on new extruder.
Will wait for extruder and fit them at the same time.
I currently have 3 heads and 3 extruders, this does not include the number that were replaced under warranty. Some heads I would have calibrated others were set up by my supplier under the warranty repair. My machine has never been free of this problem.
I hope you are right, but do not feel optimistic about this situation being resolved by fitting these new parts.
Once I have all the bits fitted an setup, I will post again and let you know how I am fairing.
By the way is there an instruction for fitting the bowden?
Thanks
Nigel

www.hudsondesignlabs.comSeptember 23, 2018 at 6:48 pm #49407I assume those issues are with using Automaker as the slicer -cos it uses such an Old version of CURA. I used to get those issues which can be down to the random / non optimal way early CURA does infill and travel moves.
I use (3.4.1) which I have a post processing script for with post-processing for all Robox Head Types with needle valve control or not. Im just trying to package it up with cython or similar such that i can sell it without it being reverse engineered.
Still waiting for that new release of automaker that @pete promised months and months ago thats got loads of features that other slicers have had for ages…….

September 23, 2018 at 11:03 pm #49410Charles, my machine has had this problem since birth, no matter what AM has done, even when we had slicer as an option. A friend had similar problem until his machine was completely overhauled by the distributor, and then it was no longer there!

This might be worth trying. Calibrate the nozzle opening values as you would do normally to the point you just see plastic oozing. Lets say 0.65 and 0.6 for each nozzle. Then do it again but back it off and say you can see plastic when you cant at say 0.55 and 0.5 for each nozzle. This will doubly ensure that the nozzle is fully closed when it should be.
Also as Ben says it does look a little under extruded.. id up the flow factor on whatever material you are using by 5% see if you get a better surface finish. Do this after trying the above as upping flow with a leaky or not shut nozzle will just exaggerate the problem.
Cheers,

September 25, 2018 at 12:15 am #49415Thanks Charles
Robox is waiting on my installing, new head, extruder and bowden and I am waiting on some nGen to run in it once it is refurbished with the new bits.
Will see what happens and then give your suggestion a try.
