If I didn’t know CEL is working on alternative slicer I would have looked more deeply into it and make some ‘fixes’ (read bodges) to amend position with Slic3r 1.2.x… But we are expecting new version of AM last…

Clicky replied to the topic Lay-fomm - rubber like filament, looks promising for use on Robox? in the forum Materials 1 hour, 7 minutes ago
Come on - alternative is to pass the printer to CEL and wait for them to do the same. I don’t think it is way to hard… Just put an hour spare and give it a go! Look at it as a shortcut, an adventure…
It is not fair completely slagging them for giving you too detailed description. It (the description) could have been very short and concise…[Read more] -

Thanks!
I’ll give it a go first and let you know. BTW - did you print it upright - like it is right now?

I’ve just done it and… well… it works for me! O: ) (of course - it is that famous ‘I tried it and it works for me’ stuff)
Anyway - if you want to try out something else for me that would be really cool. I suspect you did:
> java -jar update-am.jar AutoMaker.jar
If that worked for you - then following:
> java -jar update-am.jar -v…[Read more]

No - I am sure there is nothing wrong they way you did it. It is just as it is - AM hasn’t been made for Slic3e 1.2.x :(…
You have choice of problem with positioning and good walls or crappy walls wherever you want to position your object to. Hopefully incoming new version of AM will fix it… Until then - have both Slic3rs handy and switch…[Read more]

“Taulman-3d has T-Glas PETT material that is hands-down better than anything else I have tried in the Robox and is cheap.”
Actually not that cheap… It is roughly 50% more than CEL’s filaments and up to 3.5 times cheap ABS/PLA…

UpdateAM.zip (I’ll try to attach it to next msg - alternatively find other way to store it).
Disclaimer: backup your work, and AutoMaker installation. Be prepared to re-install everything in case something goes wrong.
You should:
1. Unzip UpdateAM.zip
2. Copy AutoMaker.jar to UpdateAM dir.
3. Run:
> java -jar update-am.jar AutoMaker.jar
4.…[Read more]

Done. It is seamlessly integrated with AM and has ability to ‘fail’ post-processing if you don’t like the result.
It works of gcode-preview from git hub and I have created small (<30MB) zip file I’ll upload here(*) for everyone who’s interested in to inspect, rebuild and apply to existing AutoMaker.jar.
(*) as soon as I test it again on clean…[Read more]

@3dnerd “What heads do you mean?”
From CEL’s web site:
“Our HeadLock™ System allows you to change the function of Robox® quickly and easily. The head contains a universal interface that will work with all future upgrades to the Robox® platform, including a 2 material head, stylus cutter, milling head and 3D scanner, the possibilities are endless!”

I saw it on TCT show and it looks like someone took one of the open sourced designs and made business of it. To Robox (as nicely packaged consumer item), Zmorph it looks like expensive DYI. At that’s first impression.
Otherwise - I have no idea… Cake head is interesting, but nothing more than gimmick (I would say it is unusable for food 3d…[Read more]

It would be nice if you are allowed to share photos of your print…
I am glad that your printer is sorted out!

Clicky replied to the topic Temperature Control in the forum Technical Support 4 days, 2 hours ago
I am bit puzzled - why you need ambient temperature for first layer at all?
First layer, thick around 0.3-0.8mm or so, just at the level of bed that is heated to 125ºC won’t experience ambient temperature almost at all!I bet that temperature if first 2mm above bed are way over 45ºC as soon as bed achieves 125ºC… Rest of the print (above a few…[Read more]
