I have seen lots of people testing beta versions of a new Polymaker Nylon. Given CRLs previous dralings with Polymaker I would not be surprised if they are holding out for this.

@17bt Just interested in what it is about Polyprop that you think is useful?

Just go with one of the built in Robox ABS profiles.
Thats your best start point.

Is the cost saving worth the kickstarter risk?
This is how i look at it. You can put in your own probability estimates if you choose.
On a basic level try and figure out what percentage if KS 3D printers actually get shipped. My guess(which is probably wildly wrong) would be about 60%. Call this P1=0.6. Again you can adjust this figure if you…[Read more]

I would love to seee someone with a DM head do a side by side test of both normal ABS vs TechABS/Titan X. Im thinking of say 8 very long thin objects side by side in alternating materials.

hagster replied to the topic Printing cylindrical holes parallel to the print bed in the forum Technical Support 5 months, 1 week ago
For small holes I just drill them out to the exact size.
For larger holes I use a reaming tool.
So long as you have enough shells this works for holes printed at any angle.

Putting the wipe blade on the side would reduce the build volume.
The LED is no big deal.
A flatter build plate would be very great though.

I have printed electronics cases that nearly fill the Robox build plate (x,y and z) that havent warped.
Is the locbuild as easy to remove as the thermosurface(tm) ? Edit- i mean the print from the bed not the bed from the printer.

That doesnt look like a particularly challenging build to me. The bed contact area is so small there is almost no warping.
I need to try out my Locbuild sometime also I have some for my i3, but the PEI sheet i currently have on thay is doing so well I dont see any need to swap.

@Pete I need to make the parts that I need to make. Form largely needs to follows function. I like to design them to provide strength where its needed. Just providing my honest opinion on the z limit. I love the Robox all the same, but its one of the things that would push me towards a different machine if we were to get another FDM. Im sure there…[Read more]

I have printed a few spiral rockets in Nylon on the Robox using the fine nozzle. They come out nice and the nylon makes them really strong. I have also done a PETG vase on my i3 that came out very strong so I dont think the fine nozzles are essential.
The big problem with the Robox and spiral prints us the lack if height severly limits it…[Read more]

I was just watching Makers Muse latest youtube about hacking spiral mode. See here
One of the points he made was that spiral prints are inhenrently a bit weak as they are only one nozzle width wide and that the trick works best for fat nozzles. So I gave it a go with a small simple model much like Angus’s strawberry…[Read more]

Not enough information to be excited about. Also it’s a Kickstarter, so even if it looks cool it will probably be a year late (not yours @simonhoult . expecting my Locbuild v’ soon 🙂 ).

I wish flexible filament was cheaper. I can get about 4 rolls of really good ABS or PLA for the cost of the cheapest flex stuff.

Hmm. Does the same for me. I suggest you send them an email if your serious about getting another. The hobbyking website sometime does silly things for me so i dont think its intended as a con.
