Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve noticed the surface gets marked by the prints themselves as well … I guess it’s a trade-off between surface adhesion and durability of the print bed …

Hi all 🙂
I’ve been very pleased with the additional adhesion provided by the LokBuild orange print bed insert, but I’ve noticed every time I do a purge the plastic is left permanently scarred – it’s as if the printhead nozzle is coming down too low and melting a divet into the plastic rather than staying far enough above it. Presumably there’s n…[Read more]

Many thanks for your feedback!
Tinu – Yes this is a good point actually – my CAD model is how I would like the handle to look, but practically the resulting part may look better if I tweak the design slightly to reduce the need for support.
Ben – This sounds promising! I’ve only ever printed with PLA (all CEL PLA except printing with a sample…[Read more]

Really, so just a simple change of material would allow this part to be printed more accurately without any other changes to the settings?
Will order a reel of NGen black and see what it’s like 🙂
Many thanks!

Hi all 🙂
Long time since I’ve posted on here!
I’ve designed this handle to go on part of a tripod and I’ve got absolutely no issues with the fine print quality of the top of this part … but the underside leaves much to be desired 🙁
I printed using support, but as you can see, the support didn’t reach up far enough to support the round pa…[Read more]

David Hogg replied to the topic I need help, filament won't load in the forum Technical Support 5 months, 1 week ago
Hi Ben,
I knew there was a reason why I’d read the end of the filament should be square! … eek …
I’ve never had a problem with the filament not being grabbed before so I’m hoping this was a one-off.
I don’t know whether it was coincidence, but this was the first time I’d run out of filament during a print – so I ejected the filament and t…[Read more]

Just came across this thread as I also had problems loading a filament into my Robox – it also felt like the filament was hitting up against something instead of being grabbed.
For me the solution was to cut a pointy chamfer onto the end of the filament and it then glided in without a problem.
Just thought I’d share this in case it helps a…[Read more]

Hmm sorry to bump this thread again, but Automaker has decided to stop loading again and I’ve no idea what I’ve done to prompt this!

Hi all 🙂
I downloaded these all from the web and printed them in time to hang on the Christmas trees of my parents and parents-in-law! Simple but so effective!
Cheers!

Hi all, again 😉
One of my simplest, yet most pleasing creations – an push-fit insert for a herb jar that means you can shake the herbs onto your food rather than having it all pour out in one go 😉
Not sure how else I could have made this without the Robox – certainly in the very short amount of time it took to design and print this!
Cheers!

Hi all, again 🙂
Over Christmas I designed this trophy for a networking group I belong to called BNI. Each week members give a 60 second presentation to the room (teaching the other members more about their businesses and referrals they’re looking for), and each week the winner of the previous ‘best’ 60 seconds picks the winner for the current…[Read more]
