@bhudson: for some reason I had missed what you wrote: << As far as lubrication, I don’t lube the system much. When I do, I use white lithium on the screws and I use the Robox oil only on the guide rods and only a drop at a time, always applied during print so that the head and bed move across the drop and spread it around. I don’t remember having…[Read more]

Yeah, thanks.
I agree it’s not much of an upgrade, I’ll skip it. Thank you again.

@cooper: Yeah that happened without doubt once I had the fine nozzle completely clogged, the bowden tube (and the power tube that comes with it) were visibly stressed. I stopped it quickly but the 2 poles MicroFit power connector came lose at the carriage and I started to get temperature fluctuations. I tried many things but only inserting it…[Read more]

I have had this problem too and I resolved it by inserting more firmly the power connector at the head carrier.
Sometimes the extruder pushes too hard and the bowden tube movement causes some force on the power connector, and optimal power connection is lost.

@dmullerdesign: Acetone dissolves PET too, but you won’t get the same nice results you get with ABS, even if you insist (as PET resists to solvents more than ABS does).
Other possible PET solvents are really too nasty to use at a hobby-level, however it’s not the choice of the solvent the problem, as it is PET that is very resistant to…[Read more]

@click: you’re welcome.
@nigelberry: simply put, if you had good results with 102% with firmware v713 (AutoMaker 1.01.02), now with firmware v721 (AutoMaker 1.01.03) you should indeed go back to 100%

Hello @nigelberry and @click, sorry, the readme wasn’t probably enough explicit/clear, to be more precise, it’s the part where it says “Change in default steps per unit to improve part accuracy”.
As the command M503 shows, when updating from firmware V713 to V721 uSteps per Unit (M92) for X and Y went from 132.333 to 133.7, with all others (Z, E,…[Read more]

@bhudson do you* apply oil regularly to the Z threads? Do you use the oil that CEL provided with the Robox?
*I ask you because you use your Robox’es a lot, while other (random) users here may not be pushing their Robox as you do.
As you possibly already know, the original oil doesn’t work in my Robox. Which is strange, very strange, but…[Read more]

@edthehorse: do like me, print moulds and then simply fill it with two-component rubber or such.. look at this old post, this is IMHO a step-ahead way to use a 3D printer:
