Thanks Ben. So much for the sample. I’ve had enough problems with the printer that I don’t really want to risk it.

I did some searching on the forum but didn’t find anything, so I thought I would ask the question.
Is anyone using PVA on the Robox? I have a couple of prints where I would like to use PVA as the support material. I was wondering if anybody had a profile they know works, some Tips, Tricks, or cautions? Does PVA work better with ABS or PET…[Read more]

Thanks for the update. I was just reading the rest of the thread and noticed you suggested several material changes.
I assume the metal bracket that came as part of my dual head install serves the same purpose? While I have had several tall parts “Fall over” I have nver attributed it to dragging of the cable and have not noticed any issues.

Great Job. I just happen to have some nylon left over from another project. I’ll have to give these a try; although I have not had a problem with the cables knocking over my prints…at least I don’t think I have, hmmm.

Great job. I have been planning to build a winding real for some time now. This will make it og together even nicer.

Nice affect; I like the use of a variety to make this come together.

Print report: Using the 0.05mm layer height profile that you provided, I printed a group of three stencils; Top Side Stencil, Bottom Stencil @0.25mm thickness, and Bottom Stencil @ .20mm Thickness. All three printed very well, very good definition on the holes and very smooth layers. I was a little concerned when it first started…[Read more]

Ok, I found the problem with the profiles you provided. The fill density was set to 0.40 instead of 40.0. I made that change and now it generated Gcode and the print time is considerably longer than the previous run, so I’m thinking it might be going to work. It is printing now. I’ll let you know how it goes.
By the way, when I modified my file,…[Read more]

The profiles “Failed to generate Gcode”. Initially they would not show up in the profile list. They have an S2 extension and show that they are for a S2 head type. I have a “SM” head type. That is the extension that all my custom profiles have, so I changed the extension and modified the head type to SM as well. For some reason this…[Read more]

Thanks all for the input. I will try the profiles this afternoon when I get home from work.
Chris; Your layer count description lines up with what my original expectations were. That is not what I am seeing when I print, but then I wasn’t sure what to modify in the profile. I got a couple of passable prints when I tweaked the nozzle height…[Read more]

I have access to a Utilimaker -3+ Extended at work. We bought it at the end of the year as a capital expense. They added all the extras in order to get the price up where is would qualify as a capital project for taxes. Since I have a 3D printer at home (Robox with DM head), I became the default expert and have been forced to print several…[Read more]

Hi, I looking for a little help on printer setup. I am attempting to print an object that needs to be between 0.1mm and 0.2mm thick. Since the Robox will supposedly print with 0.1mm layer thickness, I thought that I should be able to set the object thickness to .15mm and get a single layer that is approximately the thickness I need.
On my first…[Read more]

@bhudson; I have seen the under-extrusion problem on my DM head. One of the discussions we had indicated that it was a nozzle height calibration problem, but calibration never really solved the problem. In some cases I find that one part of the model is too high by the time I get the other parts to print correctly.
As we discussed, I messed with…[Read more]

Cool design; I think it has visual appeal. Even as a floor walking robot it looks pretty neat. I think you did a great job on the design. It looks like even the “Laser Cut” parts could be 3D printed, but for your application I’m sure it doesn’t matter. I would love to build one of these for my granddaughter.
I think you made the right choice on…[Read more]

I’ll keep a eye on it. The last two prints I have done, with only one material in the DM head, have turned out very good. Very smooth finish with good accuracy.I just leaned the printer yesterday, and tried to make sure there wasn’t anything down in the Y-Axis drive area.
I know you don’t think it is a material issue, but I’ll try the Polar…[Read more]

Simon;
That could be true, since the offset was slight. I tried taking several pictures of the screwdriver handle, but it is difficult to see the offset on the black nylon. Here is the best I could do.
