Full Time permanent role – 37.5 hours per week
Based in Portishead, Bristol
Due to the immediate success of the Robox 3D printer an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Engineer to join the team at this exciting time.
The Robox has been on sale for just over 3 months, and has already carved out a unique position within the 3D printing industry.
Experts are pitching the Robox against better known brands such as Ultimaker and Makerbot; the product received over 100 pieces of press coverage during 2014; and reviewers are heralding the printer as the one to watch in 2015.
The highly skilled Portishead based team are looking for a software engineer to help develop the Automaker software which is a fundamental part of the Robox project. The software package, created by CEL, complements the 3D printing hardware and allows users to visualise and manipulate 3D mesh files and to control a Robox printer.
The candidate needs to be a knowledgeable and practical Software Engineer but does not need 3D printing experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to work across a range of technical areas and the confidence to attempt work on unfamiliar tasks under guidance.
The Software Engineer will engage in a variety of tasks that demand a good level of experience in engineering as well as software design and development, system testing, product and code documentation and so on.
A good working knowledge of Java is essential, as is degree level education in software engineering or computer science related subject.
