I’ve filed a ticket and quickly searched these forums but I can’t find a topic.

I have started (and cancelled) two prints of the Ganty Clip after two or three layers. Did some calibrating and bed cleaning and tried again. My nozzle heated up again, only this time to 210 and really slowly crawled to 212/213. I’ve cancelled the print again after about a minute. Waited a bit and tried again. Again the nozzle heated up to 210/212, but after 30 seconds I smelled a burning odour. I guess it’s the filament (Chroma Green, delivered with the printer, ABS). I cancelled immediately and the temperature dropped again. Around 180 C-degrees I wanted to eject the spool and put it in the plastic bag to avoid moisture. I heard a bad sound (and the spool didn’t rewind, so I guess it’s stuck) so I turned off the Robox (conform the manual).

Any idea what happened to the head?

    Thanks in advance,
    Maurice.

My Robox is a Green Kickstarter Limited Edition

If it’s spending too much time heating up then it could burn the filament. Taking too long could be an issue with the amount of power going to the heating element. Perhaps the connectors on the head aren’t firmly attached.

Thanks Zach, I’ll check the connections to be sure (if I can get to it). I thought that CEL had fixed that problem, but I’m probably wrong.

Might also be a problem with the temperature sensor. If it reports a lower value than it really is, the head will become much too hot and burn the filament. This would also explain why it takes longer than usual. As heating to a higher actual temperature will take longer, and naturally slow down the hotter it gets.

    Could be dangerous.
